A 4-day urban and nature escape discovering river cruises, native wildlife sanctuaries, cultural precincts, and Moreton Island's marine reefs.
About
Discover Queensland's vibrant, sub-tropical capital over four packed days combining cultural precincts, riverways, iconic Australian wildlife encounters, and marine island adventures. Known for its sunny disposition, relaxed atmosphere, and world-class arts scene, Brisbane offers the perfect blend of modern city life and outdoor natural beauty.
Welcome to Brisbane & Riverside Sightseeing
Upon arrival in Brisbane (Meanjin), check into your accommodation located in the city center. Begin your exploration with a scenic sight-seeing cruise along the serpentine Brisbane River, taking in historic landmarks such as the Story Bridge, Kangaroo Point Cliffs, and the historic timber woolstores of Teneriffe. In the afternoon, head to South Bank Parklands to walk through lush tropical gardens, visit the Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA), or swim at Streets BeachβAustralia's only inner-city, human-made beach. End your day with dinner and drinks along Howard Smith Wharves, nestled directly underneath the illuminated Story Bridge.
Native Wildlife Encounters & Mount Coot-tha Panorama
Spend the morning taking a leisurely boat cruise upriver to the famous Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. Spend time meeting native Australian species: cuddle a koala, hand-feed Eastern Grey kangaroos, and observe platypuses, wombats, and dingoes. In the afternoon, journey up to the Mount Coot-tha Lookout for sweeping, unobstructed panoramic views stretching across the Brisbane city skyline all the way out to Moreton Bay. Conclude the evening exploring the dining and boutique shopping precincts of James Street in Fortitude Valley.
Moreton Island & Tangalooma Shipwrecks Adventure
Embark on a full-day island cruise across Moreton Bay to Moreton Island. Dive into crystal-clear turquoise waters to snorkel among the world-famous Tangalooma Shipwrecks, a cluster of 15 deliberately sunken vessels that form a bustling artificial coral reef teeming with marine life. Enjoy transparent kayaking and paddleboarding over clear waters, or participate in guided sand dunes tobogganing across high inland sand dunes before returning to Brisbane in the late afternoon.
Heritage Walk & City Departure
On your final day, take a self-guided walking tour through Brisbaneβs heritage core. Walk through Anzac Square, inspect the historic architecture of Brisbane City Hall, and stroll through the sub-tropical botanical collections at Roma Street Parkland. Grab lunch at Queen Street Mall before concluding your stay and departing for onward travel.
