About the role

Unity Grammar is seeking a Mathematics Teacher to join Vantage by Unity, its new Years 7–12 campus located in Parramatta CBD, Sydney. The position is full-time and permanent, with commencement scheduled for 2027. The teacher will be responsible for delivering Mathematics across Years 7–12 while contributing to the development of a new secondary-school learning model.

The successful teacher will work with small student cohorts, providing strong academic instruction as well as meaningful mentoring and individual support. The role is designed for an educator who wants to know students well, build positive learning relationships and contribute to a collaborative school environment.

Teaching responsibilities will include planning and delivering Mathematics lessons aligned with NESA curriculum requirements. The teacher will maintain appropriate academic standards while developing lessons that encourage students to understand mathematical concepts, apply problem-solving strategies and connect classroom learning with practical and real-world situations.

The position extends beyond conventional classroom teaching. Teachers at Vantage are expected to collaborate with colleagues in designing learning experiences and to contribute ideas that support interdisciplinary learning. The role therefore provides an opportunity to participate in the development of curriculum experiences, classroom practices and learning structures as the new campus grows.

A key part of the position is mentoring a small cohort of learners. The teacher will support students in becoming confident, curious and increasingly independent learners. This may involve monitoring academic progress, identifying areas where students require additional assistance, communicating with colleagues and contributing to a supportive learning environment.

The Mathematics Teacher will also be expected to contribute positively to the broader school community. Unity Grammar describes Vantage as a values-driven and faith-centred learning community, so staff are expected to work respectfully with students, colleagues and families while supporting the school's educational and community values.

The role offers opportunities for professional development through structured development programs and Individual Development Plans. Staff may also have access to salary packaging, novated leasing options, Fitness Passport, Employee Assistance Program support and eligible school-fee discounts. The Parramatta CBD location provides access to a central and connected Sydney employment precinct.

As part of the foundation team, the successful Mathematics Teacher will have an opportunity to contribute to the establishment and growth of Vantage by Unity. This includes working collaboratively with colleagues, participating in curriculum and learning design and helping establish effective classroom practices from the beginning of the campus.

Child safety is an important requirement of the position. Unity Grammar states that it maintains a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse and is committed to protecting the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.

Applicants should submit a current CV, relevant qualifications and details for three referees. The advertised position requires current or eligible NESA accreditation, a valid NSW Working With Children Check and current Australian work rights.

Requirements & Qualifications

Applicants should have appropriate qualifications and professional preparation for teaching Mathematics in secondary education. Current NESA teacher accreditation, or eligibility to obtain NESA accreditation, is required. A valid NSW Working With Children Check is also required, together with the legal right to work in Australia.

The successful candidate should demonstrate strong Mathematics teaching capability across Years 7–12 and the ability to plan lessons in accordance with NESA curriculum requirements. Experience working with secondary students, supporting individual learning needs and maintaining high academic expectations would be relevant to the role.

Unity Grammar is seeking an educator who is collaborative, curious and enthusiastic about developing new approaches to learning. Candidates should be comfortable working in small cohorts, mentoring students and contributing to interdisciplinary and real-world learning experiences.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills are important, as the teacher will work closely with students and colleagues. Applicants should also be willing to contribute to a values-driven, faith-centred school community and participate in ongoing professional development.
