About

The journey from Perth to Exmouth and back offers an unforgettable 7-day expedition through Western Australia’s legendary Coral Coast. This adventure seamlessly blends dramatic outback landscapes with world-class marine ecosystems, presenting a diverse itinerary packed with iconic natural attractions, wildlife encounters, and rich regional history. Travelling by comfortable all-terrain vehicle, participants cover thousands of kilometres of scenic Australian coastline with an experienced local guide.

Perth to Kalbarri

The expedition departs bright and early from Perth's waterfront, heading north toward the stunning Nambung National Park. Here, travellers step onto the eerie golden sands of the Pinnacles Desert, where thousands of ancient limestone spires rise dramatically from the ground. After exploring this otherworldly landscape, the route continues through the historic port town of Geraldton, famous for its rock lobster industry, pearl culture, and maritime shipwrecks. Weather permitting, visitors may catch a glimpse of the vibrant seasonal Pink Lake (Hutt Lagoon) before driving on to the coastal town of Kalbarri for the night.

Kalbarri National Park to Shark Bay

The morning begins surrounded by the dramatic red rock gorges carved by the Murchison River over millions of years. Highlights include taking in views from the Kalbarri Skywalk, suspended high above the gorge, and walking up to Nature’s Window to capture photos through the natural sandstone frame. Adventurers can also opt for abseiling down the sheer canyon walls. Later in the afternoon, the group travels north into the World Heritage-listed Shark Bay region, stopping at Denham to relax and take in the evening atmosphere.

Shark Bay to Coral Bay

Day three delivers up-close wildlife and marine life experiences. The group visits Monkey Mia, where wild Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins famously swim into knee-deep shallow waters to interact with visitors. Continuing around the bay, the itinerary features a stop at Hamelin Pool to observe living marine stromatolitesβ€”some of the oldest living fossil structures on Earth. The drive finishes at Coral Bay, a quiet beachside paradise sitting right on the doorstep of Ningaloo Reef.

Exploring Coral Bay & Ningaloo Reef

Dedicated entirely to Ningaloo Reef, this day provides total freedom to explore Australia's largest fringing coral reef. Home to over 250 species of coral and more than 500 species of fish, the reef is accessible directly from the beach. Visitors can spend the day swimming, snorkelling metres from the shoreline, relaxing on pure white sand beaches, or booking optional boat excursions such as glass-bottom boat tours, seasonal whale watching, or snorkelling alongside wild manta rays.

Exmouth and Cape Range National Park

Continuing north to Exmouth, the expedition ventures into Cape Range National Park. Here, rugged limestone ranges drop directly into turquoise waters. Visitors can relax at the world-renowned Turquoise Bay, famous for its drift snorkelling currents. For many travellers, the absolute highlight is taking an optional ocean safari to swim alongside majestic whale sharks, the gentle giants of the ocean (available seasonally). The day wraps up with panoramic views over the North West Cape from the Vlamingh Head Lighthouse.

Exmouth to Northbrook Farmstay

Turning south toward Perth, the return leg travels through the vast outback landscape with a stop in Carnarvon, known for its tropical fruits and fresh seafood. The evening offers an authentic taste of rural Western Australia with an overnight stay at Northbrook Farm. Here, travellers can experience true country life, feed farm animals, and share stories under the clear outback night sky.

Northbrook Farm to Perth

The final day includes an interactive visit to Greenough Wildlife and Bird Park, where visitors can encounter native Australian animals up close, including dingoes, kangaroos, emus, and reptiles. On the final leg back to Perth, the tour pauses at the white sand dunes of Lancelin for sandboarding fun before concluding in downtown Perth by early evening.
