Just For Laughs Sydney

Just For Laughs Sydney returns to Australia in 2026 for its 14th Sydney edition, bringing two weeks of live comedy to venues across Sydney from 9 November to 22 November 2026. The festival brings together internationally recognised comedians, Australian comedy favourites, emerging performers, specialist showcases and major gala performances as part of one of Sydney’s major comedy events.

A City Wide Celebration of Comedy

Just For Laughs Sydney is designed as a city-wide celebration rather than a single-venue event. Performances are scheduled across some of Sydney’s best-known entertainment destinations, including the Sydney Opera House, State Theatre, Comedy Store, Factory Theatre and Enmore Theatre, along with other performance spaces.

This multi-venue format allows audiences to experience different styles of comedy while visiting some of the city’s most recognised cultural and entertainment venues.

International and Australian Comedy Talent

The 2026 program features a broad selection of international and Australian performers. Published performers include Dara Ó Briain, Greg Davies, Lucas Zelnick, Peter Antoniou, Zarna Garg, Vittorio Angelone, David Nihill, Rhys James and Saaniya Abbas, alongside Australian comedians and specially curated comedy showcases.

Comedy styles across the festival include stand-up, observational comedy, musical comedy, alternative comedy and ensemble performances. This variety gives audiences opportunities to discover both established comedians and emerging comedic voices.

JFL All Star Gala at Sydney Opera House

One of the major highlights of Just For Laughs Sydney 2026 is the JFL All-Star Gala, taking place on 21 November 2026 in the Concert Hall at the Sydney Opera House.

Presented by Just For Laughs Sydney, the gala is hosted by Melanie Bracewell and Tim McDonald. The Sydney Opera House lists the performance as a 90-minute comedy event and recommends it for audiences aged 15 and above, as the performance may include strong language and adult themes.

Alternative Shows and Comedy Showcases

The festival goes beyond traditional stand-up performances with a range of specially curated comedy events. The 2026 program includes the Alternative Show, Asia Comedy Showcase and other specialist performances.

These showcases provide audiences with opportunities to experience different comedic formats and perspectives. They also contribute to the festival’s broader mix of established performers, emerging talent and distinctive comedy styles.

Experience Comedy Across Sydney

Sydney provides a strong setting for a city-wide comedy festival, with theatres, comedy clubs and cultural venues located throughout the city. Visitors attending Just For Laughs Sydney can combine their chosen performances with Sydney’s restaurants, entertainment precincts, harbour attractions and cultural landmarks.

For visitors travelling to Sydney, the festival can therefore become part of a wider city experience, combining live entertainment with sightseeing, dining and cultural activities.

Performance Times and Event Schedule

Because Just For Laughs Sydney includes numerous individual performances, start and finish times vary by comedian, show and venue. The official festival program lists performances at different times, including evening shows at 19:00, 20:00, 21:15 and other scheduled times.

For example, the JFL All-Star Gala begins at 19:00 on 21 November 2026, while other performances are scheduled at different times throughout the two-week festival.

Visitors should check the individual event listing before attending because the date, time and venue depend on the specific performance selected.

Accessibility

Just For Laughs Sydney is designed to welcome a broad audience, including people with access needs. The NSW Government event information states that the festival welcomes people with accessibility requirements.

Accessibility arrangements can differ between venues, however, so visitors should check the facilities and arrangements available at their selected venue before attending.
